Whitworth College was founded officially on February 19, 1890. During the years 1987 and 1988 plans were made to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Unfortunately, little is known about how St. Michael’s Anglican Church was formed. What is known is that St. Michael’s was a loose-knit congregation with no church building of its own. The records indicate that the congregation met in the Hutton Building for a time. They also met, beginning in May 1987, in the Church of the Resurrection on the corner of Olympic and North Haven.
